Michael Davis is a painter and draughtsman. He graduated in 1979 from Princeton University, where he studied painting with Sean Scully and Jerry Buchanan. Davisʼs paintings – including commissioned portraits – are in private collections in the U.S. and Europe, and were included by The Museum of Modern Art in the 2000 Kwangju (South Korea) Bienniale. In 1996 he created digital paintings for Mabou Mines theater ensembleʼs “An Epidog.” He has taught drawing and painting at Brooklyn College, Parsons School of Design and the 92nd Street Y, and taught as a visiting artist at the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University.

Michael's work has been reviewed positively in journals and newspapers including Art Forum, Art News, Art in America, The New Yorker, the New York Times and others. Examples of his painting and drawing (on which he has recently concentrated) can be seen on his website, www.michaeljohndavis.net
